The rain is unable to penetrate as the material fibers criss-cross over the perforations allowing the car to breathe without allowing the surface tension of the water to be broken to get through the cover. This allows the whole cover to breathe, it is impossible for a 100% waterproof material to breathe, it would be a plastic cover that would sweat and condensate all the time, it would stop the rain getting through but it would be wet under the cover all the time due to condensation. The Moltex five layer material allows the car to breathe as well as keeping out 99% of rain and moisture leaving the car dryer for longer. We feel it is the best fabric available to balance waterproofing and breathability. We do not recommend a fully tailored exterior cover as this fits the car too well and restricts the air circulation.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOnly in exceptional circumstances could you possibly find any moisture under the cover as the whole atmosphere is very damp. This then evaporates as soon as the temperature increases due to the materials excellent breathing characteristics. Safe to be used all year in most weather conditions*. As with any covering the ability to allow the air to circulate is of prime importance. All covers with a waxy or plastic finish should be avoided as they are unable to breathe and will generate condensation. Some covers have a vent at the top of the front and rear screens, this allows air to circulate in this small area but not over the rest of the car so we recommend these be avoided.
