Desert Market Seeds in Purple Prickly Pear

Opuntia violacea v. Santa Rita—or the purple prickly pear—is a plum-colored cactus with bright yellow flowers. As a desert plant, it favors drier soil, lots of sunlight, and minimal watering. Germination takes 2–3 weeks, and flowers emerge after 2–3 years.
